Ghostwriting (Echoes of Conflicts)

Echoes of Conflicts
A mysterious shroud of foggy weather with deep silence surrounding the Morning Land of Helachia gives a good charm to Arnav. He has been working as a teacher in a primary school here for the last three months. Arnav used to live with his uncle in Dhaka when he was young. His parents passed away at a young age. Then his uncle raised him. However, his aunt's negligence was constant. After getting this job, Arnav settled in this village. He got a room just behind Helachia School. He faced many problems living in this small room. Unable to bear it anymore, so asked Manik Babu Teacher of Math to arrange a rental house. But where is the house for rent in this remote place?

One day Arnav was walking at the edge of the village and saw an old uninhabited landlord's house. Then he curiously entered there. All sides are full of weeds, and everything is old and shabby. Banyan and Ashworth trees occupied the walls of the house. However, the house was quite solid. A room in it attracted Arnav very much. Then he talked about the room with Manik sir and the head sir. Both of them disagree about leaving there. That house is the home of evil spirits. Arnav heard that and said, then I must leave there. Meeting with evil spirits has been my interest for a long time but did not get any opportunity.

Arnav will change his house after finishing the class this afternoon. Even though Manik sir did not want to, but he arranged a van to transport his belongings. But the strict prohibition of Manik Sir and Head Sir - if you have to stay, you must not stay alone in this house. So Jeevan will stay in this house with Arnav. Jeevan is a boy from this village with a very calm nature, unmarried, so he has no problem living with Arnav. Jeevan cleaned the room and placed all belongings in position. In the meantime, he has cleared a room next door for him to stay. The big pillar landlord's house is two-storied. The house has a total of ten rooms. Arnav's favorite room is on the second floor, Jeevan will be in the next room. Behind the house, there is a dense jungle and a big field in front, Twin ponds in the north, and also, there is a mysterious ancient temple on the south side. Village girls meditate and worship in that temple on the new moon night of Chaitra Sankranti. There is no idol in that temple. A new stone is painted with vermilion every year and worshiped as Makali. Arnav hears that human sacrifice used to be offered here. Of course, today they are only history. But no one dares to go to that ancient temple at night.

The light of one-half moon is floating in the sky between clouds. After a few days, the new moon of Chaitra Sankranti will rise in the sky. At night Arnav was walking on the balcony after eating khichuri and egg bhaji cooked by Jeevan. Just then Jeevan came and said Babu I am going to sleep now. You don't hang out on the porch late at night. Arnav boldly said, ok Jeevan you go to sleep without worries. As Jeevan leaves, Arnav smokes a long puff and looks at the mysterious temple in the moonlight. The temple has become more enchanting in the soft light of the moon. The light and shadow are playing in the jungle shrouded in mystery. Suddenly flow of nature begins to give him goosebumps.

Arnav felt someone calling him from the direction of the temple. Some strange force is drawing him from there. At that time Arnav started to think about whether these things happen in modern times. Anyway, I have to go to bed now but it will be a little late to sleep in this new place. And in a while, some noise came from the back of the temple. Arnav quietly went to the balcony and looked at the temple. He saw a shadowy figure emerge from the jungle and stand on the porch of the temple. It was like a shadow figure of a man, but nothing else was understood. The shadow is looking at him. Arnav wanted to go down but because of an unknown fear, he did not go down. The shadow figure also stood for a while and entered the temple. Arnav stares blankly at the temple. Suddenly the shadow figure quickly disappeared from the temple towards the forest. But before leaving, he looked at the second floor of the landlord's house once. Seeing that, Arnav's entire body felt a chill. After standing there for a long time, Arnav slowly recovered and his surroundings also became normal.

Arnav woke up in the morning with Jeevan's call. He looked at the clock on the side of the bed and saw that it was already eight o'clock in the morning. He asked Jeevan why he didn’t call him earlier. Jeevan says I actually thought you went out earlier. Arnav explained last night's incident to Jeevan. Hearing everything, Jeevan got up and said with fear, "Dada, this must be the Kali Kapali." I will tell Manik Babu about the incident now. We will not stay here anymore, saying that, Jeevan left the room. Just then Arnav jumped out of bed and grabbed Jeevan's hand. Then asked Jeevan in a calm tone you tell me first who is this Kali Kapali. No need to say anything to Manik Baba or Head Sir now. The look of panic on Jeevan's whole face was evident then. Then he sat on the cracked floor and began to tell a cursed story. Jeevan started saying that long ago Kali Kapali used to sacrifice humans in this mysterious temple. He used to subjugate people in such a way that they themselves put their heads in the sacrificial pit. And Kali Kapali bathed in the blood of human sacrifices. Boro Karta Shri Nibaran Chakraborty used to help him in the heinous work. But not everyone knew about this inferior work. Everyone knew Kali Kapali as the Kapalika of the temple. But the problem arose that day, according to his commentary, Kali Kapali sacrificed the younger daughter of Zamindar Babu on the orders of Kali Maa. Zamindar Babu was almost insane at that time. That day was the new moon night of Chaitra Sankranti. Zamindar Babu put all the blame on Kali Kapali. Then on that new moon night, the zamindar babu with the villagers sacrificed that Kapalik in the sacrificial pit. And then one by one the Zamindar clans perished in an unusual way. Only the Choto Korta Animesh Chakraborty was alive and was never found, but everyone thought he had gone to Calcutta. So there was no trace of him and that was how it all ended. Arnav has neither belief nor disbelief in this story.

Then another two days passed. Today is again the moon night of Chaitra Sankranti and the village girls came to perform puja. They finished the puja just before late at night and returned to their home. Arnav was watching all this sitting on the balcony. He forgot to eat dinner today. Jeevan will not be here today as he has an invitation to a relative's house. So he left before evening. Although he was not willing to leave Arnav alone, Arnav forcefully sent him to his relative's house.

Arnav was sleeping in his room at midnight. A massive noise disrupts his sleep. He opened his eyes but saw the illusion of darkness. Arnav took out the torch as nothing was visible. But the torch did not light. Who knows battery may be down. Slowly he got up from bed. What is this massive annoying Nagara sound? Suddenly there was so much light all around. When going to the balcony, he looked at the ancient temple. What is the magnificence of the temple? Some people are playing Nagara, some people are holding torches. All surroundings are illuminated by those torches and lights.

Still, with the attraction of an unknown evil, he started moving towards the ancient temple. Step by step pass by the people and head towards the sacrificial pit. All faces are covered with black cloth. Tell me why the man lying on the sacrificial pit looks so familiar. Who is Arnav seeing? Why does his body structure look so familiar? The man is lying helplessly with his head on the sacrificial pit. Kali Kapalik is standing right next to him with a sword. The sword is shining in the moonlight. Kali Kapalik's face is dark, dressed in ocher clothes. Kali Kapalik looked at Arnav with narrowed eyes. Then a horrible thing happened. In an instant, that Kapali sword went up and down on the man's head. Immediately the head was separated from the body. Arnav looked at the severed head. He falls back two steps and sees Jeevan's head on the ground. Suddenly, darkness fell all around. Kali Kapalik quickly turned into an airy male skeleton. Arnav then came running from the ancient temple. All those people have turned into skeletons by then. Arnav kept running screaming. He didn't know how long he ran like this. Arnav stood in a field next to an Ashworth tree. A man came out tearing down darkness and stood in front of Arnov. His clothes are royal. He looked at Arnav, smiled, and said welcome, now do your duty, Arnav Chokroborti. I am Nibaraon Chokroborti.

The next morning the villagers discovered Jeevan's s severed head inside the temple. And Arnav has been missing for almost two years now. However, on the night of the new moon, two people’s movements were observed by the villagers. One is Kali Kapalik and another one seems like Arnav.
